Transforming a healthcare system is no small feat.

Our organization has been working towards this for the last 20 years.

We’re so glad you’re here.

Let’s begin.

Take Action

  • Have you just learned about Oregon’s path towards universal healthcare, and the work happening in the State of Oregon?

  • Do you want to take some action, but you don’t know how?

Here are 4 easy ways to start.

1. Sign up as a supporter, and join our email list.

We’re watching this work like a hawk so you don’t have to. We’ll send you the updates you need to know, specific to your corner of the state.

2. Share your public comments with the State of Oregon’s Universal Health Plan Governance Board.

This Board was created to develop a plan for an Oregon universal healthcare system. They will deliver the plan in September 2026.

All of their meetings are public, and they want to hear everything you think about this kind of reform. You can submit your comments in writing, over Zoom, or in person.

3. Get more involved with HCAO.

Don’t tear your hair out trying to understand this all on your own. Our organization helped create the current legislature. We have local chapters all across the state, and are always glad to welcome more volunteers.

4. Spread the message to your community.

Tapping in to existing communities around our state is critical to this effort.

Learn what you can about our work, the work of the Universal Health Plan Governance Board, and bring that information forward to the people you care about in your life.

Through a combination of 20 years of work, and a bit of luck, Oregon is poised to be the first state to transition to universal healthcare.
