Although both Bernie and Hillary say they are adamantly opposed to the continuous Republican attempts to privatize and corporatize Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Administration, Social Security, and all things "public," Bernie is the only presidential candidate who openly supports and promotesexpanded, single-payer, improved Medicare for All! He is opposedto furthering our more costly, privatized, profit driven, corporate-centered health industrial complex that puts profit before people and corporate greed before public need!
When Hillary says she wants "to achieve universal healthcare by building onto Obamacare," please understand the importance of the following very important facts:
1) The term "universal health care" can be very deceptive,
2) "Obamacare" is based on a previously rejected, “Republican,” health care plan that mandates the uninsured must purchase costly, sometimes inadequate, health insurance policies from privatized, subsidized, profit driven insurance corporations,
3) One of the main goals of a corporation is to make as much profit for its investors as possible. "
In many cases, when a family does find a corporate insurance policy with a premium that fits within their budget, the additional out-of-pocket expenses of co-pays and deductibles incurred when they have to use it creates major economic burdens! As a result of these combined expenses, close to a million Americans, including many with health insurance, go bankrupt each and every year!
Please understand that in an effort to gain Republican and corporate support for health insurance reform, President Obama enlisted the services of Liz Fowler, former executive vice president of Wellpoint Insurance Corporation, to be the chief architect of the Affordable Care Act. No wonder it seems to serve corporate interest far more than public interest as 29 million of US are stranded without healthcare in the USA!
It is also no surprise that many doctors, nurses, and other concerned Americans do not believe "building onto Obamacare," as Hillary prescribes, will solve our national healthcare emergency. They fear it will only expand America's privatized, profit driven, corporate-centered, health industrial complex to the point of no return as Republicans continue their attempts to sabotage, cut and Gut Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and the VA, Obstruct life-saving Medicaid to millions of eligible Americans living in Republican controlled states, and Privatize everything that benefits the public interest and common good!!
America can and must do better!!
NOW'S THE TIME!
