T. R. Reid has become one of the nation's best-known reporters through his books and articles, documentary films, reporting for the Washington Post, and commentaries on NPR's “Morning Edition.”
His 2009 book, The Healing of America, became a national best-seller. PBS “Frontline” made two documentaries, Sick Around the World and India--A Second Opinion, following Reid as he did the reporting for that book. His latest PBS film is U.S. Health Care: The Good News, broadcast by PBS affiliates around the country.
Reid is Chair of the Colorado Foundation for Universal Health Care, the statewide citizens' campaign working to provide health care for every Coloradan. For more information, please visit his website.

June 22, Monday 6 p.m. at Kell’s Irish Pub, 112 SW 2nd Ave, downtown Portland: Sick Around the World, the PBS documentary written by T.R. Reid, followed by a discussion by Liz Baxter, executive director of the Oregon Public Health Institute. There is no charge. Registration is encouraged but not required. This event, which precedes Mr. Reid’s visit to Oregon, is hosted by the City Club of Portland, Health Care Member-Led Forum.
July 16, Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m. “Sick Around the World" documentary by T.R. Reid, Darkside Cinema, Corvallis, $7. Take another look at why and how most develop countries guarantee access to health care for their people. Discussion to be led by three local physicians.
