Did you see the photograph of the man in Okanogan, Washington, thanking firefighters for saving his home? He was wearing a T-shirt reading “Lower Taxes + Less Government = More Freedom.” I wonder if he has changed his mind?
Many people probably agree with his T-shirt. But he could not have saved his house on his own. We can’t build the roads on which we drive to work on our own. We are a community, and sometimes we have to work together; there are essentials in our lives that we cannot provide on our own.
One of these is access to health care. ObamaCare has helped some people, no question. But too many people are paying premiums that they can barely afford, and still have no access to health care, because they have a $6,000 deductible. That’s crazy. We need publicly funded health care, so that everyone can get the care they need, when they need it. HCAO.org is working for this goal.
