After sustaining losses and being forced to raise rates for next year, Oregon health insurers have received some welcome good news: They're collecting more than $169 million under an Obamacare program designed to stabilize the market.
The payments, announced last week by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, were made under the federal reinsurance program. Moda Health collected the lion’s share, or $110.5 million. The next highest was Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, which received $10.8 million.
