This month, I did something I am not happy about. I decided to no longer accept Oregon Health Plan insurance at my dental office. I have been practicing dentistry in downtown Portland for 34 years while also working in the Multnomah County dental clinics.
When the Oregon Health Plan first came into being I was delighted, and I am still a strong supporter of the plan. Patients who cannot afford dental insurance have been able to come in and have their oral health evaluated, treated and maintained. It is a step in the right direction toward improving health care for everyone in our community.
