Dr. Cutler gave everyone in Oregon a great gift: we need to know why dentists are no longer able to treat patients who have OHP as their health insurer or no insurance at all.
This story has been developing for decades as dental care for people who cannot afford to pay out of their own pockets are pushed out of prevention and treatment and into waiting for a crisis. Where do they go then? The Emergency Room where they can do nothing except prescribe pain meds and refer to the dentist!
What is the real answer to Dr. Cutler's dilemma of wanting to serve everyone but not being able to? A universal, publicly funded health care system that includes all necessary medical treatments like dental care. Every Oregonian should have the right to go to the dentist.
Health Care for All Oregon is working hard to make this a reality.
