First Moda bought the naming rights to our beloved Rose Garden for 40 million. Now Providence Health and Services is re-naming Jeld-Wen Field, the Portland Timbers Stadium, for an amount which they refuse to disclose. Providence Health Services is a Catholic non-profit serving more than 12,000 Oregonians with a network of hospitals and health coverage. What are they hiding? Perhaps they are hiding from the wrath of Oregon policy-holders who have faced exorbitant rate hikes year after year, supposedly due to increased medical costs. Do these costs include CEO compensation,in the millions? How are they spending our health care dollars?
It seems that Providence is following Moda down the the low road by spending undisclosed millions of premium dollars on advertising at a sports complex instead of on policy holder's health care. Come rally with Health Care for All-Oregon to denounce this flagrant misuse of our health care dollars!
Meet on Saturday, March 8, 5:30 p.m., corner of SW 18th and Morrison, in front of the Timbers' Stadium.
Let's end this profit-based health care system! Publicly funded health care for all
