Member Profiles: The Rural Organizing Project

The Rural Organizing Project (ROP) is a grassroots movement with about 50 member organizations called Human Dignity Groups that together have built a movement that upholds rural progressive values across Oregon. Now more than 20 years old, it has a small staff located in Scappoose Oregon and many volunteers and board members from all over Oregon.

Current issues ROP Human Dignity Groups are engaged in include
Legislature: Standing Up for Family Farmers!‏
We’re so close to winning wage theft protections!
Bradley Manning – The Moral Imperative of Carrying Out Acts of Defiance‏

ROP is a proud partner of the Welcoming America movement across 19 states for immigrant inclusion, respect and integration.  Our Welcoming approach transforms communities.

Debt in rural communities is high. ROP believes that we need an Oregon where everyone has the opportunity to live happy, healthy and productive lives, and HCAO is part of the solution.   FaceBook
